Music

At St Charles, music is taught through a bespoke package of units from the Charanga Music Scheme providing pupils with a rich and varied musical experience. Each class receives specialist teaching from a MAPAS music teacher for one term per year offering high quality instrument tuition and opportunities to develop performance skills.
In addition to curriculum music, pupils can take part in a wide range of instrumental lessons. We offer guitar lessons on a Thursday and a variety of drum, wind, string and piano lessons through MAPAS, giving children the opportunity to develop their musical interests and talents further.
Music plays a central role in our school community. Mrs Williams leads the school choir which performs both in school and at key community events throughout the year. She also leads whole school singing liturgy every Monday morning reflecting our identity as a faith-based school and celebrating the joy of music through worship and praise.
