Humanities

At St Charles we follow a bespoke curriculum balancing history and geography objectives across the school, ensuring progression in learning from year to year. The programme is designed to give pupils wide-ranging experiences of the past and different places while developing enquiry, critical thinking and location awareness.

Children enjoy a range of ‘wow’ moments that bring learning to life, including trips to the Manchester Museum, Stockport Air Raid Shelter, Staircase House, the zoo, the farm, the local area and The People’s History Museum. These experiences help pupils make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the world around them.

Access Arrangements:

St Charles RC Primary School is a single storey site. It has one main building and a separate library building. The library building is a single storey with ramps to allow access for all. Both buildings have disabled toileting facilities.

The carpark offers one disabled car parking space, although if further spaces are required, we would ask visitors to contact school ahead of their visit and necessary arrangements can be made.
