Maths                              

At St Charles we follow the White Rose Maths scheme of learning which provides a carefully sequenced and structured approach to developing fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. As part of the Maths Hub, we work collaboratively with other schools to share best practice and strengthen the teaching of mastery across all year groups.

We actively promote the use of manipulatives to support pupils’ understanding of mathematical concepts, helping children to move from concrete to pictorial and then to abstract representations with confidence. This approach ensures secure understanding and enjoyment of mathematics for all learners.
